First Recipients of the InterPore Journal Invited Student Paper Award from InterPore2025 Announced
InterPore is pleased to announce the first three recipients of the InterPore Journal Invited Student Paper Award from the InterPore2025 nominations. The recipients were nominated based on outstanding student presentations at the InterPore2025 Annual Meeting and subsequently invited to develop their work into manuscripts for InterPore Journal.
The award is granted only after the resulting paper has successfully completed the journal’s peer-review process and been accepted for publication. As this process takes place independently for each manuscript, recipients from the same Annual Meeting may be confirmed and announced at different times.
The first three recipients from the InterPore2025 nominations are:
- Mario Del Mastro, for “Scale-Dependent Slip at Porous Interfaces: Micro-PIV Measurements of Beavers–Joseph and Saffman Coefficients,” co-authored with Alexandros Terzis. The paper has been published in the most recent issue of InterPore Journal: https://doi.org/10.69631/gexq8215
- Nengi Fiona Karibi-Botoye, for “Multiscale Structural Control of Airflow, Diffusion and Heat Transfer in Non-Fungus Farming Termite Mounds,” co-authored with Guy Theraulaz, Bagus Muljadi, Vasily Demyanov, and Kamaljit Singh.
- Armin Damon Riess, for “Coupled Hyperbolic Subsurface Flow (CHSF) Model to Solve Buoyant Two-Phase Flow and Transport in Heterogeneous Porous Media,” co-authored with Rasim Hasanzade, Hamdi A. Tchelepi, and Patrick Jenny.
Mario Del Mastro’s paper was published in the recently released Issue 3/2026 of InterPore Journal. The papers by Nengi Fiona Karibi-Botoye and Armin Damon Riess will be published in the journal’s next issue.
Additional manuscripts arising from the InterPore2025 nominations are still progressing through the journal’s review process. Further recipients may therefore be announced at a later date.
