Lecturers: Maja Rücker (Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands), Catherine Spurin (Stanford University, USA), and Benzhong (Robin) Zhao (McMaster University, Canada).
Course Dates & Time:
- Monday, November 2 (9:00 - 12:00 PST / 18:00 - 21:00 CET)
- Friday, November 6 (9:00 - 12:00 PST / 18:00 - 21:00 CET)
- Monday, November 9 (9:00 - 12:00 PST / 18:00 - 21:00 CET)
- Friday, November 13 (9:00 - 12:00 PST / 18:00 - 21:00 CET)
What Will You Learn?
- There are many different ways to image porous media across different scales, ranging from the nanoscale to the cm-scale. Imaging techniques will include lab-based X-ray, synchrotron imaging, microscopy (light and laser), SEM, AFM, and nano-tomography.
- Discuss which technique is best, depending on application.
- Teach students how to perform image analysis AND understand the limitations that exist when there is no ground truth data.
