Dear InterPore friends,
Summer vacation is upon many of us. This includes our Editor-in-Chief, Matthijs, as well as many of
you who would otherwise be sending us items to publish. As a result, the newsletter this week is
short and sweet, with a look at another great plenary speaker to InterPore 2022, the Kimberly-Clark
Distinguished Lecturer, and some new faces in the Program Committee.
Happy reading!

InterPore News
Dear InterPore colleagues,
Suppose we push alternating pulses of air with ~95% relative humidity (37 degrees C) and air with
40-50% rel. humidity (20 degrees C) through a thin fabric. The temperature of the fabric increases,
but won’t reach 37 degrees C, so condensation occurs, leading to water accumulation in the fabric,
which increases the resistance to air flow. What will be the final load of condensed water in the
fabric?
Dear InterPore colleagues,
The Newsletter team thought it would be a quiet summer. We were wrong! Here is another fully packed
InterPore Newsletter. A call to contribute to the Task force for Interpore in Africa, a new
InterPore chapter being formed, looking forward to 2022 (KC lecturer and InterPore2022), a brand new
Research Spotlight and much, much more…
All the best,
Matthijs de Winter
Editor-in-Chief

Dear InterPore friends,
Today’s Newsletter looks into the (near) future. The last opportunity for the book on porous media
research in images. A one of its kind (or the start of something new). New short courses are
announced and we look ahead to InterPore2022.
Dear InterPore friends,
It is time to shift focus. InterPore2021 has been evaluated and all the comments and feedback taken
onboard for InterPore2022. And while the northern hemisphere is getting into a summer break mood,
new initiatives are coming up. Our new InterPore president, Michel Quintard, is promoting a task
force to strengthen porous media research across the African continent. As editor-in-chief, I hope
to further promote the scientific exchange within our InterPore community through our Newsletter.
Dear InterPore Friends,
The InterPore2021 has finished. Well, not really, as all talks and posters are still available
online. I think it was a great success. Some occasional technical issues occurred, but that is the
same with in-person conferences, right? A frozen laptop or failing projector. And all issues were
quickly solved by magnificent technical support.

Dear InterPore friends,
Who is going to sing at InterPore2021? Please find out below…and join!
We have some changes in the organization with the regular coming and going of committee members and a
chairperson position. After 13 years, InterPore is prospering, and still plenty of potential is to
be reached worldwide as seen in a new InterPore Chapter that has been formed in Israel, formally
starting very soon.
Meanwhile, I am working hard to get my presentation ready for InterPore2021. It can already be
uploaded, so not a minute to waste!
Dear InterPore colleagues,
A new edition of the InterPore Newsletter with a great variety of
items. A new InterPore employee, practical news and calls for InterPore2021, reports and science…
