InterPore2026 Bulletin (11)

Sent on: 20-05-2026

All oral presenters are reminded to upload their presentation files to the conference system no later than today, Friday, 15 May. This is necessary to allow the technical team sufficient time to transfer presentations to the correct session room computers.

Please note that presenters will not be permitted to run presentations directly from a USB stick during sessions.

Avoid the Tuesday morning rush by taking advantage of early conference check-in at La Cité Nantes Congress Centre on Monday from 14:00–18:00. Participants can collect their badges in advance by presenting their ticket QR code, either printed or on their phone.

There is still time to register for one of our 2026 Conference Courses, taking place in person on Monday, 18 May, ahead of the main conference.

All courses are offered as half-day sessions and are open for registration as part of the conference registration process. The following courses are available:

Tickets to the welcome reception and conference dinner for accompanying guests are available for purchase separately below. The welcome reception and conference dinner are included in the fees for conference registrations. Guests are also welcome to join us on Wednesday evening for the Nantes Social Walk. Please note that guests will not have access to coffee breaks, lunches, student events and workshops, the DEI forum, nor the scientific portions of the event.

We are happy to provide a limited number of local transport passes for InterPore2026 participants. Passes can be picked up at the registration desk.

As quantities are limited, we kindly ask participants to take a pass only when needed and return it when not in use, so others can benefit as well.

We are pleased to welcome Yongfei Yang (China University of Petroleum, East China) as a new invited speaker at InterPore2026.

Prof. Yang’s lecture will highlight major advances and future directions in flow mechanics for unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs, spanning multiscale modeling, digital rocks, fracture networks, and AI-driven flow simulation. His work bridges pore-scale physics and field-scale applications, offering new perspectives on complex flow processes in porous media.

The Nantes metropolitan area hosts a strong interdisciplinary research ecosystem in porous media, combining expertise in geosciences, civil engineering, fluid mechanics, energy, food and environmental sciences. Major research topics include flow and transport in porous materials, multiphase and reactive transport, poromechanics and coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical processes, heat transfer and energy storage in porous structures, filtration, adsorption and industrial process engineering. The main institutions involved are Nantes Université, Centrale Nantes, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Institut Mines Télécom Atlantique, ONIRIS and Université Gustave Eiffel.

Interested in joining the Porous Media: From Physics to Art Tour? We encourage you to come! Participation is limited to 30 attendees, and places will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to those who arrive at the meeting point.

This unique excursion explores the intersection of porous media science, sustainability, and art through visits to research and creative spaces in Nantes.

Please meet at 13:45 at the entrance to La Cité des Congrès on Monday, 18 May.
