InterPore News Featuring the New Chair of the Communications Committee

Sent on: 27-04-2026

Dear InterPore colleagues,

Travel and accommodations booked for InterPore2026? It is about time if you haven’t done so already. When that is taken care of, you'll have time to enjoy the brand new Time Capsule interview with Prof. George Hirasaki. Synthesizing TNT at a young age and still looking for time to ski! And lots of science in between.

And news from the office: We have a new chair for the communication team! Find out more below. Also interested in contributing to the InterPore organization? Contact someone from your local InterPore chapter or contact the office directly.

All the best,

The coastal trail linking Pornic and La Bernerie-en-Retz (located 40 km southwest of Nantes) offers visitors an enjoyable experience of the Atlantic coast. Starting near Pornic’s picturesque harbour and old castle, the path quickly leaves the town behind and follows the rugged coastline. It alternates between shaded sections under maritime pines and more exposed clifftop paths with sweeping ocean views. One of the area's most distinctive features is the traditional pêcheries – wooden fishing huts perched on stilts above the rocks or water, which are emblematic of the region’s coastal heritage.
