Wesley de Boever

Wesley De Boever graduated as a geologist at Ghent University and obtained his Ph.D. within the Pore-Scale Processes in Geosciences Research group of the same university in 2015. His research focused on multi-modal characterization of sedimentary rocks, with a strong focus on X-ray micro-CT scanning of rock-fluid interactions in cultural heritage applications. After his Ph.D., Wesley went into industry, currently working as the global product sales leader for micro-CT for Tescan, a role where technical understanding and close relationships with scientific and industrial customers are key. Outside of this, Wesley is also a member of the committee of the international Rock Special Interest Group (iRIS), a small but close community focusing on imaging in geosciences. He also was a board member of the International Association for Computed Tomography and is a key member in the Tescan team for collaborations with key opinion leaders. He is passionate about X-ray imaging in geosciences, with the ultimate goal in accelerating science towards solutions for global challenges such as CO2 storage, critical minerals and new energies, while keeping up with the increasing demand for energy and technology.
