The InterPore Academy of Porous Media was established in 2020 with a mission to support the InterPore Society's objectives of advancing and disseminating knowledge in the understanding, description, and modeling of natural, biomedical, and industrial porous media systems.
The Academy promotes education, training, and research through a variety of activities, including courses, webinars, thematic workshops, and initiatives by the Young Academy.
Our Offerings:
-
Courses: We provide comprehensive courses covering various aspects of porous media, including the fundamentals of flow and transport, with applications in energy, hydrology, geothermal, carbon sequestration, and hydrogen storage.
-
Webinars: Our webinars feature experts discussing cutting-edge research and developments in porous media. For instance, recent topics have included reactive transport modeling from pore-scale observations, x-ray imaging of flow and transport in rocks, and biotechnology, biomineralization and biofils in porous media.
-
Thematic Workshops: We organize workshops focusing on specific themes within porous media, providing deep dives into specialized topics and fostering collaborative research opportunities.
-
Young Academy Activities: Our Young Academy supports early-career researchers through initiatives like the Porous Media Tea Time Talks, offering platforms for presenting research and networking with peers.
