InterPore2026 Conference Course #1: Digital Rock Physics in Subsurface Systems Workshop: From CT Scanning to Pore-Scale Modeling
Join instructors Saeid Sadeghnejad and Friedrich Schiller from the Institute for Geosciences at the University of Jena for the course “Digital Rock Physics in Subsurface Systems: From CT Scanning to Pore-Scale Modeling.”
The course is divided into two parts. In the first section, participants are introduced to the theory behind pore-scale imaging and Digital Rock Physics (DRP), providing the background needed to understand subsurface rock imaging and analysis.
In the second part, the workshop becomes hands-on. Participants will work with micro-CT scans of rocks using the software ImageJ and learn how to segment the images using machine-learning techniques in ilastik.
The workshop is designed to connect the theoretical foundations of Digital Rock Physics with practical experience using real imaging data and analysis tools.
Participation in the conference courses is in-person only (online participation is not possible.) Registration for conference courses can be made in conjunction with your conference registration. If you would like to register for a conference course, but will not be attending InterPore2026, please contact margaret.dieter@interpore.org to obtain a registration form.
Registration Fee: €85 (For InterPore2026 Participants) / €130 (Conference Course only)
Details: Participants should bring their laptops
