Inga Berre has been Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Bergen since 2013. She received her PhD from the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Bergen in 2005. Her research focuses on the modeling and simulation of coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical processes in subsurface systems, including fault reactivation induced by fluid injection and production.

She currently serves as principal investigator of several research projects, including the ERC Consolidator Grant “Mathematical and Numerical Modelling of Process-Structure Interaction in Fractured Geothermal Systems” (MaPSI, 2021–2027), as well as projects funded by the Research Council of Norway.

Berre is an Editorial Board Member of the InterPore journal since 2023, and she has also been member of the Program Committee of the InterPore Annual Conference (2017-2024).
