Diletta Giuntini is Assistant Professor in the Mechanics of Materials section of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

Her research focuses on the development of advanced ceramics and ceramic-based materials, with technologies spanning ultra-fast sintering techniques and additive manufacturing. Her manufacturing work combines experimental and modeling methods. Current activities in her group include tailoring the structural behavior of ceramics, designing layered and multiporous ceramics for energy applications, and devising new material solutions for extreme thermal and mechanical loading conditions.

Diletta obtained her BSc and MSc cum laude in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pisa, and her PhD in Engineering Sciences within the joint doctoral program between the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU).

Her awards include the Inamori Fellowship, the ASM International Abe Hurlich Scholarship, the Humboldt Fellowship, the TMS-AIME Champion H. Mathewson Award and the TMS Early Career Faculty Fellow Award. Diletta serves in the Board of the Eindhoven Young Academy of Engineering and in the next4TU.HTM (High Tech Materials) committee.
