The 8th Brazil InterPore Chapter conference was held at the Trindade Campus of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil from August 11-13, 2025. The choice of venue was particularly fitting, as UFSC is a leading research center for porous materials, with extensive facilities in its Engineering and Geology departments studying everything from advanced polymers and ceramics to aquifers and reservoir rocks.

This vibrant academic setting served as an engaging forum for interdisciplinary collaboration. The conference focused on global issues through the lens of porous media, integrating theoretical, computational, and experimental approaches across science and engineering. Drawing a total of 138 attendees, the event brought together students, academics, and industry experts to promote the exchange of ideas and encourage new collaborations.
