The UK InterPore Chapter has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 InterPore National Chapter Award, recognizing its sustained activity, strong membership, and strategic leadership within InterPore.

Founded in 2015, the UK Chapter has organized eight Chapter conferences, most recently at Loughborough University (1–2 September 2025), and successfully hosted InterPore2023, the 15th Annual International Conference on Porous Media, held in Edinburgh from 22 to 25 May 2023. With around 300 members, the Chapter is among the largest in InterPore.

In the past year, the Chapter renewed its leadership, adopted formal Terms of Reference (Constitution), and is actively working toward the establishment of a joint UK–Ireland InterPore Chapter.

The UK Chapter is chaired by Dr. Diganta Bhusan Das (Loughborough University), and fellow steering committee members are: Chris MacMinn (University of Oxford), Florian Doster (Heriot-Watt University), Matteo Icardi (University of Nottingham), Tannaz Pak (Teesside University), Vahid Niasar (University of Manchester), and Yingfang Zhao (University of Aberdeen).
