DTU Summer Schools

Summer School on CO2 capture, transport, and storage in subsurface

19-23 August 2024, DTU Offshore, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark

This intensive one-week course aims to give participants a deep understanding of CO2 storage, its challenges, and opportunities. Industry experts will present case studies of CO2 storage sites, including depleted hydrocarbon fields and saline aquifers such as the Bifrost, Greensand, Northern Lights, and CO2RYLUS projects. Participants will explore repurposing infrastructures for CCS, reservoir simulations, CO2-induced corrosion, wellbore integrity, geomechanics, containment, seismic monitoring, economics and full cycle decision-making for CCS projects, and Denmarkā€™s CCS plans. The program also offers participants the chance to present and discuss their CCS-related work with experts. More information on the program and registration visit

Summer School on Produced Water Management -ā€Ætowards zero harmful Discharge to the Ocean

26-30 August 2024, DTU Offshore, Technical University of Denmark, Denmark

This summer school will focus on both fundamental aspects of produced water as a very complex and potential ecotoxic effluent from the oil and gas industry as well as the needs and actions of treatment to control the impact on the environment. You will be introduced to the newest regulatory demands, the ecotoxicity evaluations, fundamentals on how this complex oil-in-water system behaves, and what the implications are for developing and optimizing treatment. The newest practices in PW analysis and how chemistry affects the behavior of droplets in the water. More information on the program and registration visit
