The Scientific Committee has been working hard to define 20 amazing minisymposia for this conference. Full details of the programme can be accessed here. Would you like to see one example? Prof. Felipe Pereira (The University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, TX, USA), Marcio Rentes Borges (Brazilian National Laboratory for Scientific Computing, Brazil) together with Arunasalam Rahunanthan (Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio, USA) will host a minisymposium titled Uncertainty quantification in porous media. This minisymposium aims at providing a forum for discussion of major issues that arise in the application of uncertainty quantification (UQ) methods for porous media processes. We welcome presentations of UQ methods for a variety of porous media applications, including flow and transport as well as geophysics. We aim at establishing a multi-disciplinary forum to share new findings, challenges, and methods. We thank Felipe, Marcio and Arunasalam for spearheading it.

Do you recall our last newsletter? We made an appointment at the beach! You cannot possibly savor Valencia without visiting the marina and the beaches. No worries if your accommodation is in the historical center or in the City of Arts and Sciences … you already know that each place in Valencia can be reached in less than eight minutes!

Valencia Marina is one of the city’s key landmarks, not only for the events that are typically held there, but also due to its unique buildings. It houses the 19th century Harbour Sheds, the Edificio del Reloj and the Veles e Vents Building, the emblem of the new Marina. There are also a variety of shops, terraces and restaurants with spectacular views, as well as a children’s park, the Superyachts Berthing with its amazing yachts, and the North and South Marinas, filled with numerous boats. Just a few meters away, we can find the beaches of El Cabanyal (Las Arenas) and La Malvarrosa, next to the attractive Paseo Marítimo promenade. We suggest you try a delicious paella in one of the seafront restaurants, or enjoy a drink in one of the bars. Sand, sun, and paella! This is another perfect day to spend during your stay in Valencia for InterPore2019.
