Call for Nominations for Kimberley-Clark Lectureship

Year of the Jubilee: InterPore Kimberly-Clark Distinguished Lectureship on Porous Media Science & Technology

As announced in a preceding InterPore newsletter, a new award sponsored by Kimberly-Clark Corporation has been decided: the “InterPore Kimberly-Clark Distinguished Lectureship on Porous Media Science & Technology”. This award is now open for nominations. Description of the award and the application procedure is provided below. The deadline for receiving nominations is April 28, 2017.

Award description

The InterPore Foundation for Porous Media Science and Technology has established a lectureship award entitled “InterPore Kimberly-Clark Distinguished Lectureship on Porous Media Science & Technology”. This award is funded through a generous grant provided by Kimberly-Clark Corporation to the Foundation. Every year, an award committee will select a prominent porous media scientist, through a nomination procedure, to present the lecture during the following calendar year. The awardee will present the lecture at various member and non-member industrial and academic organizations.

Numerous benefits are expected from this lectureship, including:

  • Strengthening of academic/industry connections.
  • Widespread exposure for the research of the distinguished lecturer, as well as for InterPore.
  • Cross-fertilization of skills, ideas, and techniques among research groups from different fields in both academia and industry.

Lecture Series

The lecture series will consist of the following:

  • A minimum of 20 lectures will be given at different member and non-member industrial and academic organizations in the specified calendar year. The list of host organizations must be approved by the InterPore Foundation.
  • Travel expenses will be covered by the Foundation. No honorarium will be given.
  • Industrial and academic organizations can apply to host the lectureship awardee. Each host institution must agree to pay local travel expenses (transport to/from airport) and a two-day hotel stay.
  • The awardee will present the award lecture at the annual InterPore conference.

How to make a nomination

Nominations for the award will be accepted from current members of InterPore. The nomination package should include:

  1. A nomination letter with maximum length of two pages. The letter should include a description of the proposed lecture topic,
  2. A CV of the nominee and a full publication list,
  3. Copies of publications (in electronic format) relevant to the proposed lecture (publications, reviews, lecture documents),
  4. Up to three supporting letters (maximum length two pages each),
  5. Award candidates must be members of InterPore.

Application packages should be submitted to nomination@interpore.org by April 28, 2017.
