Ms. Marion Musielak presented a poster titled:

Modelling the Transfer of Gaseous Pollutant through Fissured Concrete Slabs“.

The work combined of experiments and modeling to improve our understanding of the transport of chlorinated pollutants, frequently encountered in industrial sites, from soils to buildings through cracks and fractures in the concrete basement walls. Such models provide improved health risk assessment as well as important guidance for site remediation.

Mr. Ebrahim Shahraeeni presented a poster titled:

Surface wetness affecting coupling with atmosphereduring evaporation from porous media“.

The work presented new insights into interactions between wetness of an evaporating porous surface and the air boundary
layer above. The results provide important insights into long-standing questions related to the dynamics of drying curves.
