The third conference and annual meeting of the UK chapter of the InterPore and the 1st Monash-Warwick PREFRAC Workshop on Hydraulic Fracturing took place on 4th-5th of September 2017 at the University of Warwick.
The conference was an excellent opportunity to meet the community people, comprising high-quality research papers and poster presentations and invited speakers from diverse disciplines, focusing on porous media and their characterization at different physical scales.
The meeting addressed general themes related to the field of Porous Media and covered different theoretical and experimental topics of the field including fundamental and applied aspects.

Paper title “A new coupled computational framework for fluid pressurized crack evolution in porous media”, Presented by Alexander J. Hardcastle from University of Nottingham.
Paper title “on the apparent permeability of rarefied gas flows in porous media”, Presented by Lefki Germanou from University of Strathclyde.
A joint poster prize was awarded to the following posters in the conference (full details of the posters can be found in the conference proceedings):
Poster title: “Flow of a Curing Resin in the Resin Injection Pultrusion”. Presented by Simon Chen from University of Warwick. Poster title: “Three-Phase Flow and Fracturing of Deformable Porous Media”, presented by Deren Ozturk from Swansea University
