InterPore 2021 will take place in Edinburgh!

Heriot-Watt University is organizing the 13th International Conference on Porous Media and Annual Meeting of InterPore (InterPore2021), in Edinburgh, Scotland’s stunning capital. Edinburgh’s Old Town and New Town are both United Nations’ World Cultural Heritage Sites, presenting a unique and fascinating atmosphere to each visitor. Over the centuries, Edinburgh has served as a platform to advance science and engineering. Substantial contributions have been made in Edinburgh across many disciplines in fields relevant to InterPore. To name a few, modern geology is not imaginable without contributions from James Hutton, neither is physics without contributions from James Clerk Maxwell, nor biology without contributions from Charles Darwin. In the neighbouring city Glasgow, James Watt developed the steam engine, thereby starting the industrial revolution.

The conference will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), situated right in the city center and in short walking distance to Old and New Town, Edinburgh Castle and various cafes, restaurant or places to enjoy Scotland’s unique whisky collection. InterPore2021 represents UK’s large and broad InterPore community, ranging across the full remit of the organization. The meeting will hence provide an excellent opportunity to learn about current and past research findings in the field of porous media research. Edinburgh and the wider Scotland have a long, complex and visible history worth exploring, tasting and experiencing during the conference or even a longer stay.

Information on InterPore2021, like the technical program, important dates, and accommodation details will be published on the InterPore2021 website, WeChat public account, Whova app, and Twitter (InterPore Tweets).
