InterPore 2020: Travelling to Qingdao

Two new long-distance international flights, to/from Qingdao-Paris (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday) and Qingdao-Dubai (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), began service on 01 July 2019 allowing for convenient travel for passengers to and from France and the United Arab Emirates. The two additional routes join Frankfurt, San Francisco, Sydney and a growing list of other international non-stop destinations bringing travelers to and from Qingdao. For more information on international non-stop routes to Qingdao.

Meanwhile, construction continues at Jiaodong International Airport. Upon completion later this year, it will replace Liuting International Airport as Qingdao’s main airport. In June, the 220,000 square-meter stainless-steel roof was installed. Because of Qingdao’s coastal location, a stainless-steel roof, which will better withstand winds, rain and corrosion, was chosen as opposed to a more typical aluminum one. The airport is ultimately expected to handle 35 million passengers annually.

Planning on being one of those 35 million? Anxious about finding your way through such a large international airport? Never fear! Preparations are being made to help guide and direct all InterPore2020 participants through the airport and to their respective hotels. Speaking of hotels, LOC Qingdao is currently negotiating rates for the official conference hotels. Detailed information will be provided soon, but if you are interested in seeing which hotels are on this list and their proximity to the conference center.
