Time Capsule Video: Ghislain de Marsily

Ghislain de Marsily is a highly acclaimed, internationally renowned scientist and pioneer in the development of stochastic hydrogeology and inverse methods. He is Professor Emeritus at the University Pierre et Marie Curie, France. In his childhood, he contracted polio resulting in a year of immobility. Nevertheless, he managed to continue learning and go on to become a hydrologist. For his numerous and groundbreaking achievements, he has received a large number of prestigious awards, including the highest French medals of honor: Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur and Chevalier de l’Ordre national du mérite. He has been elected as a member of Academy of Europe and Foreign member of US National Academy of Engineering.
