6th Annual Meeting of the Mexican InterPore Chapter
The 6th Annual Meeting of the Mexican InterPore Chapter was held in Mexico City on February 27 and 28, 2020. The meeting was hosted by the Institute of Geology, National University of Mexico (UNAM) at its Geology Museum.
The meeting, denominated in Spanish RACMI 2020, comprised 2 invited, 30 oral and 17 poster presentations. The scientific program (which can be found here) comprised four sessions: Artificial Porous Systems, Soils and Aquifers, Environmental Systems and Porous Systems in Energy Resources. The list of participants included 63 researchers and graduate students from UNAM (School of Engineering, Geosciences Center and the Institutes of Geology, Geophysics and Renewable Energies), the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP), the Mexican Institute for Water Technology (IMTA), the National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energies (INEEL), the Center of Engineering and Industrial Development (CIDESI) and the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH).
The assembly of the Mexican Chapter was held on the second day of the meeting. The president of the Steering Committee, Eric Morales-Casique (Institute of Geology, UNAM), gave a short introduction on the InterPore Society and reported on the activities of the national chapter during the previous year. The vice-president, Anne M. Hansen (IMTA), gave the financial report. During the assembly the Steering Committee was renewed. Anne M. Hansen will now be president and Rodolfo G. Camacho-Velázquez (School of Engineering, UNAM), José A. Quevedo-Tiznado (IMTA) and Isaac Bautista-Pueyo (Graduate student, UNAM) were elected vice-president, secretary and student representative, respectively. It was also agreed that the next annual meeting would be held at the Geosciences Center (UNAM) in Querétaro, Mexico.
